Actividades en mi colegio ( Activities in my college )

En mi programa donde hice mi proceso para obtener esta beca tenemos que compartir nuestra cultura en este pais, por lo tanto hacemos actividades culturales cada cierto tiempo, y asi tambien nosotros aprendemos de otras culturas de nuestros companeros. Yo tengo 38 companeros que vienen de Haiti, Republica dominicana, America Central y Sur America. Con toda estas diferentes culturas aprendemos muchisimo. Apesar que la mayoria habla espanol a veces tenemos obstaculos cuando hablamos porque a veces hay palabras que ellos no entienden y ellos tienen palabras que yo no entiendo.

IN ENGLISH

In my program where I did my process to get this scholarship we have to share our culture in this country, therefore we have culture activities sometimes, and so well we learn other cultures from our classmates. I have 38 classmates that they come from Haiti, Dominican Republic, America Central and South America. With all these different cultures we learn a lot. Even though everybody speak Spanish sometimes we have some troubles when we are talking because sometimes there are some words that they don't understand and they have words that I don't understand.

He estado viviendo con una Familia Anfitriona. ( I've been living with a Host Family )

Desde el primer dia que vine he estado viviendo con una family anfitriona. He estado aprendiendo la Cultura Americana, es diferente de donde vengo. Yo voy a vivir con esta familia for 9 meses, ya tengo 5 meses. Comparto my cultura con ellos y ellos comparten su cultura conmigo, ellos no tienen mas hijos pequenos en la casa, todos ellos estan casados.

A veces tenemos algunas actividades como familia y como usualmente aqui es asi. Me di cuenta que he aprendido ingles con ellos. Usualmente nos reunimos para cena y hablamos sobre com estuvo nuestro dia. Aqui en USA en tiempo de comida mas importante es la cena no como Guatemala; pero ahora estoy acostumbrado a comer mas en la cena que en el almuerzo. Mi host Mom usualmente cocina la cena para la familia y ella siempre esta diciendo los nombres de cada comidas.

IN ENGLISH

Since the firts day I came here I've been living with a host family. I've learning the American Culture, it's different where i come from. I'm goint to live with this family for 9 months, I have 5 months already. I shared my culture to them and they shared their culture to me, they don't have any more children at home, all their children are married.

Sometimes we have some activities as family and as ussually here is like that. I realized that I've learning english from them. Usually we get together for dinner and talk about how was our day. Here in USA the main mill is dinner, no like Guatemala; but now I'm acostum to eat more in dinner then in lunch. My host mom usually cooks dinner for the family and she always is telling us the name of each type of food.

Apesar que esta nevando (Eventhough it's snowing )

Esta manana estaba nevando en Oregon.. y yo pense que no teniamos que ir al colegio... pero tuvimos que ir porque teniamos clases.. fue un dia muy cansado.

In English:

This morning it was snowing in Oregon... and I thought that we don't have to go to school... we had to go though because we had classes.. today was a busy day.

La primera vez que miro mis amigos en USA. (The first time that I saw my friends in USA) This was in September-2008

Cuando estuve visitando mis amigos que los conoci cuando ellos estuvieron en zacapa, Guatemala... recuerdo hace dos anos yo les dije a ellos que algun dia ire a Oregon y ahora estoy aqui porque Dios me ayudo para poder estar aqui para estudiar y compartir buenos momentos con mis amigos de aqui.

IN ENGLISH:

When I was visiting my friends that I met them when they were in Zacapa, Guatemala... I remember two years ago I told them that someday I will go to Oregon and now I'm here because God helped me to be here for my studies and to share good moments with my friends from here.

Cuando acaba de venir en el estado de Oregon. Agosto-2008 ( When I just Came in Oregon August-2008)

Cuando acababa de venir aqui fue muy dificil por mi familia y mis amigos de Guatemala... pero tuve que seguir adelante. En el programa donde portenezco, ellos hacen actividades para nosotros... somos 48 personas de 11 paises (America Central, Sur America and el caribe) Tengo muchos companeros aqui oregon que hablan diferentes idiomas pero mas espanol. Al principio estuve en lugares turisticos en Oregon.

IN ENGLISH:

When I just came here was very difficult for my family y my friends from Guatemala... I had to keep going though. In the program where I attend, they prepare some activities for us and so on. We are 48 people from 11 countries (America Central, Sur America and Caribbean). I have a lot of classmates here in my college in Oregon; they speak different language but more Spanish. In the beginning I went to Attractions places in Oregon.

El dia que me mude a los Estados Unidos ( The day that I moved to the USA)

Ese dia fue muy dificil para mi porque yo sabia que iva a extranar mi familia, mis amigos y mi linda Guatemala. El programa donde obtuve esta beca, ellos estuvieron preparando my viaje antes del dia que partiera. El dia que mi avion partiera vi el fulturo de mi nueva vida aqui. No puedo olvidar ese dia que deje Guatemala porque hizo una diferencia en mi vida.

IN ENGLISH:

I hope you understand my english!!!!That day was very difficult for me because I knew that I will miss my family, my friends and my beautiful Guatemala. The program where I got the scholarship, they were preparing my trip before I left. That day I saw the future of my new life here. I can't forget that day because it made a difference in my life.

Everything was different when I just came here (Todo fue diferente cuando acaba de venir)

Now I know how it feels to be in a new place, eat new food, experience different customs, and so on. Every day I have challanges to overcome, God is helping me to be here and ask you for your prayers. I will be here for two years for my major.

In Spanish:
Ahora ya se lo que se siente al estar en un nuevo lugar, comida,costumbres, etc. Cada día tengo desafíos que superar, Dios me está ayudando para estar aquí, y le pido por sus oraciones. Voy a estar aquí por dos anos porque tengo que terminar mis estudios aqui

Esos dias fueron dificiles decir adios a la gente que queria mucho... especialmente a mi linda iglesia de zacapa. Cuando vine aqui fue muy dificil porque recordaba todas las cosas que hice con ellos. Pase lindo momentos con estas personas que es muy dificil de olvidar, cada foto tiene un significado para mi.
