Earthquake in Haiti - Terremoto en Haiti

I can't believe what is happening in Haiti! ohh my Friends..let's be thankful to be where we are because these people are suffering over there. Please pray for them. I have three classmates from Haiti (Enock, Enatilova and Rose). They haven't heard anything about their families because there is not way to comunicate with them.

A Dream - Un Sueno

Hola mi amigos! Como han estado? Les cuento que ya empeze un nuevo trimestre. Anoche sone que estaba en la iglesia en zacapa. En el sueno yo estaba compartiendo mis experiencias en Oregon; incluso les estaba explicando un poco sobre el clima aqui en Gresham, OR.

Bueno amigos! Esos suenos volvieron otra vez...mis primeros meses fue asi tambien.

Navidad - Christmas

Feliz Navidad mis queridos amigos y mi famllia. Apesar que todos estamos lejos siempre estan en mis oraciones. Como ustedes sabran no he visto mi familia por mas de 18 meses lo cual esta navidad es la segunda vez que no estoy con ellos. Pero gracias a Dios estuve alrededor de personas que me quieren durante esta temporada. Tuve mi segunda blanca navidad, estuvo nevando…todo los campos estuvieron blancos de mucha nieve. La temperatura estuvo bajo cero grados centigrados, que bueno que ya estaba algo acostumbrado al frio porque si no saber como me hubiera ido.



Pues fue una navidad linda, fue una experiencia inolvidable. Mi amiga Beth Wirkkala hizo una cena deliciosa y tambien un desayunos ricos. Antes de las 12 pm llame a mi familia y fue muy lindo poder hablar con ellos y decirles “Feliz Navidad”. El dia 25 fuimos a la iglesia porque hubo un sevicio navideno y pues algo que yo no habia hecho en Guatemala ir a la iglesia para el dia 25 de diciembre. El dia de ayer jenny, Jay y yo hicimos un hombre de Nieve; fue mi Segundo hombre de nieve.


Estamos bendecidos por tener el regalo de la Salvacion. Demosle Gloria a Dios por ese regalo porque nosotros los humanos no merecemos eso pero aun asi Nuestro Padre nos ama. El senor tiene un amor incondiconal, no tenemos que hacer nada, lo unico que tenemos que hacer es aceptar a Jesus como nuestro Salvador y seguir sus pasos.

Ya solo tengo unos dias de descanso, el dia 4 de enero empiezo mi Nuevo trimestre. Les pido amigos mios por sus oraciones.

Mi viaje al Estado de Minnesota - My trip to Minnesota

Pues como talvez ya saben ahorita he estado en descanso. Pues gracias a Dios tuve la oportunidad de ir a Cokato, Minnesota. El dia Viernes 18 de este mes parti a Minneapolis, Minnesota; pero antes de llegar alli hize escala en Salt Lake City, Utah. Los primero dias me quede con la familia de mi amigo Sven Johansson; ellos fueron muy buena onda conmigo durante el tiempo que estuve en su casa.

Estuve por un domingo en la iglesia de Luterana en Kingstown. Fue un gran placer estar alli y poder conocer a ellos. Pues tambien tuve la oportunidad de visitar mi amiga Mari por menos de un dia y tambien fui a visitar la Familia de Pablo Salguero . Durante el tiempo que estuve alli estuvo nevando lo cual fue muy divertido para mi porque yo queria una Blanca Navidad.

Pues los ultimos dias me estuve quedando con Beth, Orwal y Jay Wirkkala. La verdad que si tuve momentos muy lindos con ellos, ellos me trataron como si fuera el hijo de ellos. La verdad que le doy gracias a Dios por haberme dado amigos como ellos. Mi amigo Orwal Wirkkala es el pastor de la iglesia Luterana en Kingstown y tambien es el papa de Lynn Wirkkala quien esta como misionera en Guatemala.

Pues fue un viaje muy bendecido, como siempre decimos nunca dejamos de aprender. No importer donde vaya siempre el espiritu de Jesus esta siempre conmigo. Gracias a mis amigos he aprendido mucho sobre la palabra de Dios. El dia 24 de diciembre la iglesia tuvo un programa navideno y pues ellos me pidieron que si podia cantar himno cristiano en espanol. Jay toco la guitarra, Jenny y yo cantamos el himno “Te Vengo a Decir”. Fue una noche muy bendecida porder estar juntos y celebrar el Nacimiento de nuestro Salvador Jesus. Que lindo ser Cristiano porque somos bendecidos en muchas formas pero algo que recibimos cuando aceptamos a Jesus como nuestro Salvador es la Salvacion. La palabra Salvacion tiene mucho singnificado en nuestras vidas.

Ahorita estoy en el avion escribiendo un poco sobre los momentos que pase durante mi descanso en Minnesota. Cada vez que viajo en un avion, pienso en mi familia, amigos de Guatemala porque me gustaria ellos pudieran tener esta experiencia, la verdad que estoy bendecido. Ahorita voy de regreso a Portland, Oregon; pero primero voy hacer escala en Los Angeles, California.

Gracias amigos por estar orando! Estare escribiendo sobre lo que no pude escribir los meses pasados.

In English:

As you might know I have been in my winter break. Thanks to the Lord I had the opportunity to travel to Cokato, Minnesota. Friday December 18^th I departed to Minneapolis, MN; but first I switched plane in Salt Lake city, Utah. The first days I stayed with the family of my friend Sven Johansson; they were very nice family while I was staying at their place.

I was for one Sunday at the Apostolic Lutheran church in Kingstown, MN. It was a pleasure to be there and to be able to meet such as nice people. I also had the opportunity to visit my friend mari for less than a day and I went to visit the family of my friend Pablo Salguero. During my time there it was snowing which was fun for me because I wanted a white Christmas.

So the last days I was staying with Beth Orwal and Jay Wirkkala. I really had awesome moments with them; they were like I was part of their family. My friend Orwal Wirkkala is the pastor of Kingstown’s church and also he is Lynn’s dad who is as a missionary in Guatemala.

It was a blessed trip, as we always say “we never stop learning” because in this trip I learned something. It does no matter where I go, the spirit of Jesus is always with me. Thanks to my friends I have learned a lot about the word of God. December 24^th Kingstown’s church had a Christmas program and they asked if I could sing a Christmas song. So Jay Wirkkala played the guitar, Jenny Johansson and I sang “I come to tell you” in Spanish. It was a blessed night to be able to be together and celebrate the Birth of our Savior Jesus. How beautiful is to be a Christian because we are blessed in many ways but something that we receive when we accept Jesus as our Savior is The Salvation. The word Salvation is very vey meaningful in our lives.

Right now I’m in plane writing a little bit about the moments that I had during my break in Minnesota. Every time that I fly in a plane, I think of my family, friends from Guatemala because I would like them to be able to have this experience; truly I AM blessed. Right now I’m going back to Portland, OR, but first I’m going to switch plane in LA, California.

Pot Luck & Gift Exchange

Hace dos semana tuvimos una fiesta con mi programa. Cada pais cocino algo navideno,..pues tuvimos 11 diferentes platos navidenos. El motivo de esta fiesta fue para estar juntos y disfrutar de nuestro descando despues de un dificil trimestre. Hicimos intercambio de regalos pero primero de el intercambio dos semanas antes de la fiesta cada persona tuvo un amigo secreto quien fue la persona que se iva dar el regalo. Pues durante las dos semana estuvimos tarjetas, chocolates, fotos y mucho mas para el amigo secreto .

Ha sido una gran bendicion compartir con personas de otros pais. Pues en esta fiesta comi como nunca, solo pude probar un poco de 9 paises. Creo que de todo lo que probe me gusto mas la comida de Peru, Haiti y Republica Dominicana.

Two weeks ago we had a party with my program for Christmas. Every country cooked a traditional dish… so we had 11 different traditional dishes. The reason of the party was to get together and enjoy our break after of a difficult term. We did a gift exchange but first of the exchange two weeks before of the party each person had a secret friend who was the person that was going to receive a gift. So whi

le the two weeks we were giving cards, chocolates, candies and much more to the secret friend.

It has been a big blessing to share with people from other countries. At this party I ate as never I had eaten; I only could try a little bit of 9 countries. I think my favorite dishes that I liked the most were the Peruvian, Haitian and Dominican dishes.
